Read-a-thon eagle

In addition to reading and tracking minutes, Lyndale students will participate in some fun Read-a-thon activities this week.

  • DEAR Time: Once a day students will Drop Everything And Read! There will be 15 minutes of DEAR time during every school day this week.
  • The Reading Cove: Students will have a chance to read in the Reading Cove during Media specialist time. The first floor conference room has been transformed into a great place to get lost in a book!
  • Growing the Eagle: Students will fill out eagle feathers for their reading minutes and the feathers will be added to the Reading Eagle in the 1st floor hall. If students reach the school reading goal of 3000 feathers, Mr. Stauduhar and Ms. Hunter will perform a silly stunt at the Read-a-thon Finale assembly!
  • Silly Stunt Voting: Each morning before school starts, students can vote for which silly stunt they would like to see Mr. Stauduhar and Ms. Hunter perform at the Read-a-thon Finale assembly!
  • Book Character Dress-up Day on Friday, February 9: Students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character! No violent costumes/weapons.

Read-a-thon Information Packets were sent home with students on Friday, February 2. You can also find the Information Packet on the Lyndale School website. Don't forget -- packets and donations are due back to school on Monday, February 12.
