Lyndale School participated in the Tree Trust Learning with Trees program during the 2017-2018 school year. This program, funded by CenterPoint Energy, helps schools develop outdoor environmental learning areas on their school grounds and provides opportunities for hands on, outdoor environmental education. Since 1992, Tree Trust has developed outdoor learning areas with over 185 Minnesota schools! Learn more at www.treetrust.org/programs/community-forestry/learning-with-trees/.

In April 2018, Lyndale students planted 25 trees and shrubs on school grounds with the help of school staff, parents, CenterPoint Energy volunteers, and Tree Trust. Volunteers also installed an outdoor classroom with 10 benches and new flowering trees near the Grand Ave. entrance to the school.

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to assist with watering the new trees and caring for the other new plantings around the school. Please contact the Lyndale PTO lyndalepto@gmail.com if you can help!
