Lyndale Principal: Update
Tuesday, April 04, 2017 8:30 AM

Greetings Lyndale Families:  The purpose of this communication is to update our families about how Lyndale Community School will proceed given the recent news of Ms. James’ retirement.
In an effort to assist the Administration Team at Lyndale, Minneapolis Public Schools has appointed Dr. Jean Neuman to serve as Interim Principal for the rest of the 2016-2017 school year. Dr. Neuman is a retired MPS Principal who currently works as an educational consultant in Minnesota and throughout the country. Dr. Neuman frequently works as an Administrative Reserve in the district, most recently supporting the students, families, and staff at Elizabeth Hall School and Bethune Elementary School during times of transition. Dr. Neuman is very excited to learn more about Lyndale and integrate into a thriving school community.
A new Principal for Lyndale will be hired and in place for the 2017-2018 school year. Minneapolis Public Schools has a formalized process by which they select school leaders. There will be a variety of ways for Lyndale families to provide input during the process. One way Lyndale families can make their voices heard is by completing what’s called a Leadership Profile. Families can complete the Leadership Profile now, at the address below:
If you can, please attend the PTO meeting on Thursday, April 13 at 6:00pm. I will provide an update and more information on the process to select a new Principal for Lyndale.
It is an honor and a privilege to serve you and your children. I look forward to working in partnership with you in the weeks to come as we strive to provide our students with the world class educational experience they deserve.
