Welcome to 2nd Grade!

Greetings! My name is Elizabeth Patterson, my students call me Mrs. Patterson. This is my first year teaching at Lyndale Community School.

I’ve been a teacher since 1991. Throughout my teaching career, I’ve taught 2 - 4th grade and served a math and literacy resource teacher; providing small group intervention and advanced instruction for first and second graders. I have a masters degree in teaching and learning from Saint Mary's University of MN. I received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from the University of Minnesota.

I believe a child’s first teacher is their parents or guardians. Therefore, I view my role as that of a secondary educator:  helping to amplify the hearts and minds of my students by providing a warm and nurturing learning environment where all students can grow as learners.

My professional goals reflect my life goals: learn to grow, grow to learn and bequeath all that I have learned. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of being your child’s second grade teacher!

Please feel free to contact me via school number (612) 668-4000 or email: elizabeth.patterson@mpls.k12.mn.us. The best time to reach me during the school day is from 10:50 - 11:25.
