The Principal's Corner

Dear Lyndale Families -

On behalf of all of us at Lyndale Community School, I would like to thank you for taking the time to attend Parent Teacher Conferences. Ongoing communications with families is an important factor in the success of each student, and we strive to have more than 95% of our families participate in Parent Teacher Conferences each year. If, for some reason, you were unable to make your scheduled appointment(s), please check in with your child's teacher(s) as soon as possible to learn more about their progress inside the classroom.

In addition to Parent Teacher Conferences, the month of October brought with it a number of events that contribute to the student and family experience at Lyndale. First, National Walk and Bike to School Day formally recognized and celebrated the culture of wellness we have at Lyndale. The Fall Carnival raised over $1,000, and both families and staff enjoyed the opportunity to have fun interacting with each other outside of the traditional school day. Picture Day was October 13th, and if your student was not present, there are Picture Retakes on Thursday, November 30th. Finally, the end of the quarter is fast approaching. Please keep in mind there will be no school on Thursday, November 2nd and Friday, November 3rd.

Finally, the Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking input from our community as to how to create a balanced budget that is aligned with the wants and needs of the families we serve. I strongly encourage you to take the survey, offered by the Minneapolis Public Schools, to share your thoughts regarding the basic infrastructure and programming you would like to see within our schools. This survey will influence how the Minneapolis Public Schools chooses to utilize both State and Federal funds in the upcoming school year. The survey can be accessed by visiting Thank you for advance for your attention to this important matter!

As always, our work together is strengthened and enhanced through frequent communication and contact. I look forward to seeing you soon!
