Dear Lyndale Families:
As the interim principal at Lyndale School it is a privilege to serve the wonderfully diverse community of learners. I have been excited to get to know the children, families and staff, as well as the many volunteers.
Over the last few weeks I have seen active and engaged learning. Teachers and staff take the time to know their children and guide them as they learn each day. Staff and students are persistent about their work. I am also amazed at the high interest of so many parents who actively take the time to come to school and positively interact with the factuly on behalf of their children.
Next week, several members of the PTO and Site Council will be working with Associate Superintendent Ron Wagner to interview and recommend a new principal for the upcoming school year. This is an exciting time for the school. This new process for engaging families and staff in the selection process is a great way to have a voice in the future of the school.
Having had experience in Minneapolis Public Schools, I have had the great pleasure of knowing your last two principals, both of whom were exceptional educational leaders. It is very apparent that between their leadership and that of the staff and parents, that Lyndale has become a school on the move to excellence. I am sure that the next principal will also play a major role in the continued positive learning environment for the children.
As we progress through the next several weeks, I hope to bring calm and joy to the many individuals that I come in contact with each day. My purpose is to serve each person with grace and dignity. I will also continue to reinforce good learning and behavior with the children and encourage staff as they give their all to enhance the learning levels of each and every child. Please reach out to me if there is anything that I can do to make things go well.
Dr. Jean Neuman
