The Second Annual Lyndale Read-a-thon was held February 2-11, 2018, during "I LOVE TO READ" month. It was ten days of reading and fun, capped by two school assemblies on February 15 that featured Mr. Stauduhar and Ms. Hunter throwing pies, splatting eggs and dueling with silly string!

Check out the Read-a-thon Photo Gallery to see photos from the Read-a-thon Kick-off assembly, Read-a-thon week, and the Finale Assembly Silly Stunts. A video of the Finale Assembly Silly Stunts is available on the Lyndale PTO Facebook page at

Lyndale students read a whopping 106,798 minutes during Read-a-thon week: 106,798 minutes = 1,780 hours = 74 days of reading!

All those minutes added up to 5046 eagle feathers. By the end of the Read-a-thon, the Eagle feathers stretched from the Lyndale Reading Eagle near the school office all the way around the first floor of the school. Students far surpassed the school-wide reading goal of 3000 feathers, earning the chance to see Mr. Stauduhar and Ms. Hunter get messy throwing pies, splatting eggs and dueling with silly string!

Way to go top readers, top classrooms, and the 67 students who joined the Lyndale Readers Club!
