CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU!
The First Annual Lyndale Read-a-thon was held February 6-12, 2017, during "I LOVE TO READ" month. It was a week of reading and fun, capped by a Finale celebration after STEM Night on February 16, 2017. The Finale celebration featured Principal James and Assistant Principal Stauduhar in an Egg SPLAT stunt!
Check out the Read-a-thon Photo Gallery to see photos from Read-a-thon week and the Egg SPLAT! An Egg SPLAT video is available on the Lyndale PTO Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LyndaleCommunitySchool/
Lyndale students read a whopping 76,150 minutes during Read-a-thon week: 76,150 minutes = 1,269 hours = 53 days of reading!
All of those minutes added up to 3711 eagle feathers. By the end of the Read-a-thon, the Eagle feathers stretched from the Lyndale Reading Eagle near the school office all the way around the first floor of the school. Students far surpassed the school-wide reading goal of 2500 feathers, earning the chance to see Principal James and Assistant Principal Stauduhar in the Egg SPLAT stunt!
All of that reading lead to 49 students being added to the Lyndale Reader’s Club, nearly doubling the number of Reader's Club members!
