Welcome to Visual Arts!
In the Visual Arts classroom, our goal is to give every student many different experiences with art tools and subjects. Students are exposed to a wide variety of artists, learn new vocabulary, and learn to tell stories through their art.
There are many concepts we cover throughout the year. Lessons focus on skill-making, reflecting, sharing and completing lesson objectives. The three areas assessed in the Visual Arts classroom are:
- Skills: Demonstrates the foundational skills of art-making through use of tools, materials and technique.
- Create: Creates artwork reflective of learning targets.
- Present and Reflect: Shares artwork with peers, teacher and community. Reflects on their own work and the work of others.
Let's create art!
Dress for Art
During art we regularly use supplies that have the potential to soil clothes. Please dress your student accordingly.
Donate Art Supplies
We always need moist wipes, glue sticks and pencils. If you can make a donation, just send the supplies to art class. Thanks!
