There are many fun ways to get to school, including using your feet!
Walking School Bus
What exactly is a Walking School Bus? Started by group of neighborhood parents, the Lyndale Walking School Bus was the first of its kind in Minneapolis. Each school morning at 8:15am, children and parents meet at the corner of 37th St. and Pillsbury Ave. to walk the Pleasant Pathway together. This informal gathering is a great way to get to know your neighbors and get a little exercise in the process. We hope to see you there!

MPS Safe Routes to School
Minneapolis Public Schools has implemented Safe Routes programming in 10 schools, including Lyndale, with a grant from the Minneapolis Department of Health and Family Support through the Statewide Health Improvement Program (SHIP). The goals of this programming are to encourage healthy living and combat childhood obesity, increase knowledge of pedestrian and bicycle safety, strengthen neighborhoods and communities, and support "green" environmental efforts.
