Welcome to 1st Grade with Ms. Hartwell

Welcome to 1st grade! This is going to be a wonderful year. We will be learning many new, exciting things. I am sure your child will find their favorite topic along the way. It might be Ancient Egypt or maybe even electricity!

As we go along on our adventure, please be sure to stay connected. I will be sending home weekly newsletters to help keep you informed. Your child will be receiving notes in their homework folders. Please be sure to check it daily. Also, know that I can be reached via email and phone calls too.

Now a little about me! I began teaching in 1999 and have been at Lyndale since 2004. I received my undergraduate degree from Winona State University and my Masters degree from Hamline University. I live with my son, Max here in Minneapolis. I have one sister and 2 nieces.

Some of my favorites include: the color blue, coffee, swimming, chocolate, hanging with my son, running, cuddling up with a good book and being outside in the summer.

As we start this new school year please know that I am looking forward to ensuring that all of my students feel safe, happy and loved. I know that they are smart, capable kids who will grow and learn so much this year!
