Area Learning Center (ALC) Community Ed/After School Extra Curricular Classes Minneapolis Kids



After-school programming is provided to students needing additional support in the areas of math and literacy to increase academic proficiency, Classes are generally held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Wednesday and Thursday for 4th and 5th grade), although this is subject to change depending on student need for the current school year.

GEMS/GISE afterschool STEM programming is held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for Kindergarten-3rd grade, Wednesday and Thursday for 4th and 5th grade.

Classes end at 5:00pm. There is no cost for classes.
After-school extra curricular classes for students are organized through Minneapolis Community Education. Classes are generally held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and open to all grades, although this is subject to change depending on availability. Some examples of classes have been Ukulele, Chess, and Tennis. Flyers including current class offerings and registration information are sent home with students. Community Ed/After School Extra Curricular classes are offered at a reasonable cost that varies by class. There will not be community education classes during the 2019-2020 school year. Minneapolis Kids is before- and after-school child care run by Minneapolis Community Education and held on-site at Lyndale Community School. Services are also available for non-school days and summer break. Program Fees vary. Click here for more information
