Welcome to 4th Grade with Mr. Gau

Hello! Welcome to Room 226 and 4th grade. My name is Mr. Gau. I began teaching in the fall of 2001 in Minneapolis. I arrived at Lyndale in 2008 and have been teaching 4th grade ever since. I have a BA in Elementary Education from Augsburg University and an MA in Elementary Education & Leadership Technology from Concordia University Portland, Oregon.
The most exciting part of a child is their curiosity. This curiosity is fostered by their ideas and taking risks which leads to knowledge. The use of technology is incredibly valuable for me to help evolve this curiosity in their learning.
I was born and raised here in South Minneapolis and love the city. I attended Mpls Public Schools, graduated from South High in 1997, and graduated from Augsburg college in 2001. I live in Mpls with my wife Katie and our 4 children, Kaleb, Talia, Hattie, and Willa. I like to run, play sports, wrestle, play with my family, learn, laugh, dance, and build/fix things.
We are looking forward to working with you and your children in our quest for knowledge. We have a very exciting school year planned. We look forward working with all of you!
