Lyndale Reading Eagle

We hope all Lyndale students spent some time in The Magical World of Reading this weekend! Keep it up! Reading and tracking minutes continues through Sunday, February 9.

Lyndale students will participate in some fun Read-a-thon activities during school this week.

  • DEAR Time: Drop Everything And Read! There will be 15 minutes of DEAR time during every school day this week.
  • The Reading Cove: The first floor conference room has been transformed into a magical place to read! Students will have a chance to read in the Reading Cove this week.
  • Growing the Eagle: Students will fill out eagle feathers for their reading minutes and the feathers will be added to the Reading Eagle in the 1st floor hall. If students reach the school reading goal of 5000 feathers, Principal Stauduhar and Assistant Principal Powell will perform a silly stunt at the Read-a-thon Finale assembly!
  • Silly Stunt Voting: Each morning before school starts, students can vote for which silly stunt they would like to see Principal Stauduhar and Assistant Principal Powell perform at the Read-a-thon Finale assembly!
  • Book Character Dress-up Day on Friday, February 7: Students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character! No violent costumes/weapons.

Read-a-thon Information Packets were sent home with students on Friday, January 31. You can also find the Information Packet on Lyndale Read-a-thon webpageDon't forget -- packets and donations are due back to school on Monday, February 10.
