Welcome to 3rd Grade with Mrs. Gant

I am Kate Gant. I teach 3rd grade. In our room, we focus on creating a strong classroom community where we celebrate each other's growth, work hard, learn from our mistakes, learn from and about others, work to become lifelong learners, and have fun. We hope to grow academically and as a strong and caring member of the classroom.

I went to St. Cloud State University for my undergraduate and student taught at Nellie Stone Johnson. I received my masters from Concordia University in St. Paul where I studied curriculum and instruction with a reading endorsement. I started teaching in Minneapolis in 2010 at Nellie Stone Johnson where I taught 5th grade. Then, I moved to Lyndale in 2013 where I taught 5th grade before making the transition to the 2nd grade in 2019.

My husband Chris and I have two wonderful kids, Jude and Gretta, as well as a big golden doodle named Fozzie. We love spending time outside, seeing friends and family, and eating pizza and ice cream.
