Ms. Grimes, Physical Education Teacher

My name is Martha Grimes and I am currently a physical education teacher at Lyndale Community School. I have been at Lyndale since 2015. I graduated from Bowling Green State Univesity with a B.S. in Physical Education, I obtained my masters from the University of Minnesota in Developmentally Adapted Physical Education (DAPE) in addition to obtaining a Health license from Bethel University. I have been in the Minneapolis Public School District for over 20 years. While attending Bowling Green State University I joined the Army Reserves in Ohio, later switching to Air Force Reserves in Minnesota retiring with 23 years of service.

Philosophy - My responsibility as a Physical Education teacher is to expose students to a wide variety of activities. Through participation in physical education classes, students will improve fitness and develop social skills. Fitness should be fun and social. If you were to walk by my class you would hear music and laughter.
